To admit that you are a Eurovision-fan has its price. People might judge you, characterize your taste, imply that you have that or that sexual orientation, or simply think you´re a indoor nerd behind the laptop all day long.
But most of us fans know that the community of fans most of all is diversity. And even if we argue with each other about the songs we love, the songs we don´t like, and the songs we find threatening to our own favorites. We have one thing in common. Our great love and passion for Eurovision.
Unfortunately Turkey is no longer in the competition. But there are a lot fans in Turkey who still is very active and supportive.
One of them is the turkish fan and marketing student Fatih Melek, who lives in Istanbul.
Now he has done two quite different, but amazing videos. One is a good parody of Norway entry this year. The other one is fresh today.
This is a new version of this years Spanish entry, "Tu Cancion". Fatih has turned this into a homage to Eurovison and it´s fans.
In fact. I was emotionally touched by this. Maybe I´m a bit too much sentimental.
But in a world full of hate and disunity, I can se many worse scenarios than being a Eurovision fan, waving flags from 43 nations and sing along to a song. Wherever it is Alexander Rybaks song, or the spanish song.
Thank you for your love, Fatih!
Here is Fatihs version ov Rybaks "That´s how you write a song". Enjoy and have fun.
I cites Alexander Rybak: "Use your voice in a positive way, and support your favorites".
